Kingston LSCB Training Programme (containing full course details).

E Learning and Distance Learning

Attached below is general information on the NSPCC ‘Educare’ and on the AKAMAS ‘Protecting Children: developing basic skills’ training programmes. The LSCB Training Subgroup have been looking at these programmes (amongst others) and consider them to be up-to-date, relevant and of good quality.

Each agency however, will need to carefully consider the e and distance learning approach to safeguarding training and the content of each training package in relation to their staff’s training needs.

E/distance learning can offer trainees more flexibility in terms of when and over what period of time they chose to undertake their training.  However it lacks the multi-agency component of the LSCB training programme and does not include information about the Kingston services and responses to vulnerable children.  E Learning does require trainees to have access to a PC and the web.
