Kingston Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) was established in April 2006 as a requirement of the Children Act 2004. It replaced the Area Child Protection Committees and has increased statutory powers and responsibilities.
Our LSCB brings together representatives from key agencies responsible for promoting children’s welfare, and helping to protect children from abuse and neglect.
Kingston LSCB is committed to keeping all Kingston children safe. It is responsible for developing, monitoring and reviewing child protection and child safety policies, procedures and practice within Kingston.
For further information please see our LSCB business plan
The LSCB co-ordinates and provides interagency training for staff across the Borough who work with children and families.
The detailed roles and responsibilities of LSCBs are listed in Working Together to Safeguard Children, which can be found at the bottom of this page in the related documents section.
I hope you find this site helpful and informative. Please do visit our ideas, views and feedback page as we are constantly striving to improve children’s safety in Kingston.
